We scare, because we care

This week was a pretty short week, with meetings and with soccer we didn't teach much. There are two soccer stadiums near us, the first, like the real salt lake is in our area. The second is right outside our area is the Peru National one, and well it's dangerous. So we end at seven when they play.

On Thursday we had a big meeting with our area seventy. Elder Waddell. It was seven hours, with a 20-minute lunch. I loved it! I learned a lot, but more important, that day I grew to love my president and his wife.

We woke up at 5:30 to be there by eight. President lived further away, and he was interviewing when I got there, so I figure he was up at about 4:30. When we finally had lunch, I noticed President Bosweel walking around, filling drinks, and talking to us. He didn't eat. Elder Waddell talked about how President Bosweel is one of the best Mission Presidents in South America, I believe it, and here's why.

They started their mission in July, now when you're one of the top guys in Sams club, you're living a good life. To leave that behind, for three years, and for hermana Boswell to leave it, not knowing ANY Spanish. Wow. The man reads EVERY email every week. He treats his wife like a queen, he serves his missionaries. and there's about 200 of us. What great examples.

I learned a lot this week; missionary life isn't just about baptisms, and lessons, but also being a becoming a good person. Going the extra mile is most important because you never know who's heart you'll touch, pouring drinks for others. It's not easy, but it's worth it. I now trust my president, with my life. I love and respect him. What a guy, what a life.

I'm very blessed, and uh...protected. haha solid week, learning something every one of them :) Oh! and President went to Mont Harmon, and CEU, Hermana Boswell grew up in Orangeville, so that's cool.

Now...SOMEBODY PLEASE
Send me a picture of thanksgiving Dinner

I Know Every Mile, Will Be Worth My While

Hours are turning to days, and days into weeks. I thought I'd have plenty of time to do what I want and need to do here, turns out. It's the exact opposite! I feel like I'm only getting started here in El Provenir. I love it, and I really hope I stay here for a good minute or two.

Like last week i'll sum up myself real quick and talk about people who seriously blow my mind. We were teaching a family on the 4th floor and there was an earthquake. Everything got a good shake, it was weird. And I met the first truly beautiful pervian women here. We were contacting and met her, it was even crazier than the earthquake because I really didn't think they existed here. haha Yes. We are going to teach her.

So last week I talked about Carlos, I learned more! He has six kids, with six different women! So when he went to the temple is a great mystery haha, but wow he has changed. Another crazy less active guy named Jorge. Horhey in English. We've been teaching him and his family for a while with not much progress, A couple weeks ago he said they didn't have much time until January because of work. They make Jeans... Son naturally I thought, "Don't act like ya work all the time!" I was pretty upset about it actually... Haha...That changed.

This week we taught them, he was going hard on his jeans when we got there I wanted to know what he was really doing because this room was FILLED with jeans, so I asked. and with a big grin on his face he explained he worked for levis. I was doubtful and thought they were reps, he then pulled out all the receipts, tags, buttons and a finished pair. All in English. he explained they were all for the US and for Christmas. He is employed by Levi Jeans! That’s why they don't have time, he's making THOUSANDS of jeans. I learned where and how jeans are made, not big factories. haha

People here like so differently than the US and I love it, I love learning, and helping people here. Above all, I love how the gospel helps everyone. Whether you make jeans, or have six kids with six different girls. This gospel is for everyone. It's a perfect church, with imperfect people.

now...SOMEBODY PLEASE
Tell me if Inca Cola is in the U.S.

Quote of the week.
"There are not enough hours in the day to do what I want to do, to touch the lives I want to touch, to bring a smile to those who could use a smile, to give joy to those who deserve joy, to bring peace to those who are without peace, and to have all the fun I want to have."

What Would You Do If...

A lot happened this week. I got a new companion. I got hit by a car. I went through the temple. In Spanish! my whole life changed pretty much. But is not that interesting, So Im going to write about two people who I love, and who are interesting!

The first is a less active member named Carlos. He has lived quite the life. I don{t know what the specifics are because he talks fast, but I do know some things. First. he has blue eyes. that's really rare here. everyone has brown. hes about 35 and has a ex wife who isn't a member, that me and elder allasia actually taught a couple times. he has a 21 year old son. now he has a six month old daughter with his girlfriend rose. Sometime in the middle of all that he went through the temple, so he has the priesthood, and garments. he does our laundry, and almost everyone knows him here. Ive been teaching him since day 2 here. this week Carlos and Rosa had a marriage interview with the bishop. They're planning on next month. They're both active now and theyre my favorite people. In a year. Ill be going to the temple with them! To be sealed! I hope and pray anyway.. haha

The second person is a little harder to talk about, hard because I didn't realize how strong they are, and how important they are to me, my life, and my testimony.

My mom had eleven kids. She has worked full time the whole time she raised us. Because of her six missionaries have preached the gospel, and almost all her daughters are mothers. WOW. Shes done much, much, much, MUCH more than that but to be short... There's a recent convert family and the mom reminds me of my own. her two boys are undoubtedly the best two kids i've meant here. The other day in our lessons with her, she was struggling. She doesn't {t know everything about the gospel, shes stressed, a lot of things. as she explained these things with tears in her eyes. I somehow talked the best spanish I ever have, and told her how much I respect her, how she reminds me of my mom, how my mom endured to the end, and I know she will do the same.

The spirit was a little intense. haha. What Im saying... Go hug your mothers. Remember the sacrifices they've made for us. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what happened to me, new companion, frustration, fury, discourage, because my momma taught me a lot, and what she didn't teach me, my dad did. My family will be together forever, and Im helping others feel the same peace.

now...SOMEBODY PLEASE
Tell me how many people live in ferron and the area it covers.

6. Heres my guy. No Im not getting taller, my companions are getting shorter
7. Where else did I take this picture? Yes I know my tie is too short... yes it bugs the crap out of me.

9. I really do love the temple.

We'll have Halloween on Christmas

Very fast week. I feel like I was emailing only a couple days ago. I hope you had a good halloween! If you didn't send my pictures, that's fine. I'll be here next week ready for them! haha

They actually celebrate halloween here. (Everyone told me they didn't) It's not much different. Kids trick or treating. Bros smokin bowls haha. Halloween actually effected me a lot, so I'm going to write about it! and the temple :)

Halloween was friday, and I woke up very discouraged. Discouraged from the night before. From the bad number week, I was thinking of all these missionaries here. 1 to 23 months in, struggling, and I thought. Man what's the point? What's the  joy here? Then I thought about life at home, my family, and all the hardsips that come with you know...life. haha I am now reminded that life ain't all sunshine and rainbows, anywhere. Get over it. (To make a long story short)

President Bosweel came to our house Halloween morning. (When there are 200 missionaries in the mission, it's not normal) haha my heart was lifted. He pulled me aside and we talked about the email I sent him last week (Everyone emails him every week) He said things that touched my heart so deeply, That I knew without a doubt God heard my prayers, and President answered.

Even when we have the worst days, we can hold on happily if we have peace in our hearts. Peace comes from prayer. The transfer ends tomorrow, I think Elder Allasia is going to be transferred. Next Monday my life can be totally different, I'm grateful for the peace I have that overcomes the fear, and well lets face it, I'll probably get furious for a good minute or two. haha

Also! We're going THROUGH the temple on Thursday, you know. In Spanish. So I'll let you know how that goes. haha

Keep a journal so you don't forget every holiday like I have. Have a good week. Keep the prayers comin!

This email was short because I have some mad emails to catch up on.

now...SOMEBODY PLEASE
Tell me what day Thanksgiving is on?
